Some people follow the money to find the bad guys. I follow the pain.
Screenplay by Ron Capito

A war-forged bond. A soldier on the edge. A dog who saves him...and a mission that might destroy them both.

A dog and a man find each other in a land full of strife. A war brings them together, and the bond they develop brings them home.

When a troubled soldier and a war dog separated from his handler find each other in the chaos of the Vietnam war, they form a powerful bond. Together, they face the dangers of war, and their extraordinary connection becomes their lifeline, saving not only their lives but also their shattered souls.

Alexander Ludwig is famous for his roles in Vikings, Heels, and Bad Boys 3, and 4, as well as The Hunger Games and more. The Last Loyalty will showcase his talents and feature him as the hero with a heart, and a brave canine friend.

In 1969, elite Navy SEAL Lt. Gabe Hunter is a hardened operator on his fourth tour in Vietnam. Hunter wants no attachments-especially not the stray German Shepherd scout dog who crawls out of a jungle firefight and adopts him.
The dog, Shadow, proves uncannily intelligent, loyal, and capable, saving Hunter's life and even helping the team uncover hidden dangers the human eye can't see. But Shadow is also haunted by trauma, mirroring the emotional fractures Hunter hides beneath his stoic armor.
As the SEAL team is drawn into increasingly dangerous missions-from hunting a sadistic VC warlord to conducting a perilous search and rescue operation for Jill Sheridan, a nurse who cared for Hunter during his recovery from injuries, he must confront both his trauma and the responsibility he never wanted: caring for a creature who believes in him completely.
When a deadly nighttime attack devastates the compound, Shadow's unwavering loyalty reveas a heroism the Navy never expected- and forces Hunter to face one profound truth:
Sometimes the only way to survive war...is to let something love you.
When a battle scarred Navy SEAL discovers a traumatized military scout dog who refuses to leave his side, the two form an unlikely bond that becomes the squad's most significant asset as they navigate the brutal chaos of Vietnam.
